The Birmingham Public Schools commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker, in association with TMP Associates, to design new recreation, athletic, and academic facilities for Groves High School.
Responsible for the design of the new competition pool, Counsilman-Hunsaker created a functional, attractive facility with numerous amenities including:
• Stretch 25-yard pool with eight lap lanes • 1-meter springboard diving • 13 training lanes to accommodate dual waterpolo courses • Movable bulkhead • Mezzanine-style seating
Other upgrades to Groves High School include renovations to their indoor physical education and athletic facilities. In addition, classrooms were upgraded with state-of-the-art instructional technology equipment.
