Counsilman-Hunsaker in association with Hastings & Chivetta Architects designed a new resort-like aquatic center for the City of Des Peres. To effectively utilize the indoor space, Counsilman-Hunsaker seamlessly blended fitness and leisure programming areas. Components of the indoor aquatic facility include:
5,129 sq. ft. Indoor Pool
• 212 sq. ft. whirlpool spa
• 5,121 sq. ft. wave pool with zero-depth entry
• 25-yard pool with six lap lanes
• Indoor/outdoor tube slide, equipped with fiber- optic lighting and a shallow skim-out landing area
• 598 sq. ft. tot pool with interactive play features
6,050 sq. ft. Outdoor Pool - houses two bodies of water: upper and lower pools.
1,330 sq. ft. Lower Pool features:
• Zero-depth entry and small family waterslide
• 598 sq. ft. sprayground
5,720 sq. ft. Upper Pool features:
• Cool-water whirlpool
• Lazy river
• Raindrop umbrella
• Spray garden with numerous water activities
• Two flume waterslides designed with different lengths and speeds. Each slide emerges from a 25 ft. tower and ends in a splash-down pool; the first is a 220 ft. open tube corkscrew slide and the second is a 75 ft. closed flume speed slide
